Massing - Cathrine Lucile

Cathrine Lucile, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Massing died of pneumonia after an illness of a week's duration. She was one year and nine months old, just the age to be walking and talking, which added to the pleasure of the parents. Cathrine was an unusually bright and beautiful child and so different from most children she gave her parents only necessary care, always amusing and playing to herself. Everyone who knew her loved her, owing to her unselfish and pleasing ways. She was not with us long, considering time, but my, how she will be missed; how those little feet pattering about the house and the little tongue chattering to everyone who came near; now they are stilled, never to be heard on this earth, but we can almost fancy we see that smiling little face and those beautiful golden curls mingling with the angels in heaven. The parents being young in experience the only comforting words were, "Let God's will and not ours be done," and those beautiful words of comfort +and cheer spoken by Father Conroy. She leaves besides her parents two brothers, Bernard Aaron and Donald; four grandparents , a host of aunts, uncle and cousins and friends to mourn her untimely going away. The pall bearers were uncles of the deceased and two friends, Lew Massing, Walter Lehman, John and Bernard Clouser. The flower girls were aunts. The funeral was conducted by Rev. TM Conroy at the St. Bernard Church and the little form was laid in rest in Mt,. Calvary Cemetery. - kbz
